A Kildare Member’s 90-Day Tabata Transformation at Fit & Joy

Meet Sarah, a 38-year-old primary school teacher from Naas.
Like many of us, Sarah's story is one of "busyness." Between managing a classroom of 30 kids, her own family, and the daily commute, "me time" was a forgotten concept. Her energy was at an all-time low, her clothes were getting tighter, and she felt "stuck in a rut."
"I'd drive past the Fit & Joy studio every day," Sarah told us. "I kept telling myself I'd sign up 'next week.' 'Next month.' 'After mid-term.' That went on for a year. I was tired, I felt weak, and I was intimidated. I thought I'd be the most unfit person there."
Ninety days ago, Sarah finally walked through our doors. Her story is one we see every day, and it’s why we do what we do. This is her 90-day Tabata training Kildare transformation.
The Turning Point: "I've Had Enough"
"My turning point was simple," Sarah laughs. "I was playing with my six-year-old son in the garden, and I was out of breath after 30 seconds. I just thought, 'I've had enough. I can't be this mum.' That evening, I booked my first class. I was terrified."
That fear is something our coaches are trained to handle. "Sarah was nervous," recalls her coach, Aoife. "But she was also determined. Our only goal for that first class was to make her feel successful and safe. We showed her modifications for everything."
The First Month: "I Thought I Couldn't, But I Did"
"That first Tabata training class was... humbling!" Sarah admits. "I used the lowest weights. I did my push-ups on the wall. I felt like I was moving in slow motion while everyone else was flying. But not one person looked at me strangely. The coach checked on me constantly, and the other members were giving me thumbs-ups.
"I just focused on the 20-second clock. I kept telling myself, 'Anyone can do anything for 20 seconds.' And I got through it. I left feeling shaky, but incredibly proud."
Sarah committed to two classes a week. By week three, something shifted.
"I picked up a slightly heavier kettlebell. I did a push-up on my knees for the first time. I wasn't getting out of breath playing with my son. The small wins were adding up, and they were more motivating than any number on a scale."
The 90-Day Results: "I've Never Felt Better"
After 90 days of consistent Tabata Training Kildare classes (moving up to 3 times a week), Sarah is a different person.
· The Physical Change: "I've dropped a full dress size, maybe more. But that's not the best part. I have muscles. I can see definition in my arms and shoulders. I can haul the 'big shop' in from the car in one trip!"
· The Energy Change: "This is the big one. I'm not running on caffeine anymore. I wake up before my alarm, I have energy all day for my class, and I still have energy for my family in the evening. It's a total-life change."
· The Mental Change: "I feel strong. I feel capable. I walk taller. That 30 minutes at Fit & Joy is my non-negotiable mental health break. It's my time, and it makes me a better mum, teacher, and partner."
Sarah's Advice for Newbies
We asked Sarah what she would say to the person who's currently "driving past," too nervous to come in.
"Just show up," she says, without hesitation. "That's it. That's the hardest part. Just open the door. The coaches and the community will take care of the rest. You are so much stronger than you think, and the team at Fit & Joy is amazing at showing you that."
Sarah's story is just one of many. Your transformation is waiting. We're ready for you at our Tabata Training in Kildare studio.
